We believe that creativity and greatness comes from learning, discipline and responsibilities. We are open to fostering potential interns into Master/slave powerhouses.

Every young designer dreams of owning their own fashion house. How many will get to realize that dream? Working at Master/slave enables you to learn, first hand, how to run a store, manage press requests, marketing a fashion brand and closing a sale. All this on your first day at work! How much more can you learn?

Plenty! Master/slave believes practice makes perfect.

All interns will only learn as much as s/he is willing to put in.
 
This Vacation internship programme is a non-paid programme. You are not paid. You are here to learn.
It is a programme designed to foster extreme learning curve for the individual that whole-heartedly believes fashion is their destiny.

This is a twelve weeks programme and it requires tremendous maturity, hard work and discipline to learn and work under pressure. It would be ideally suited to someone who has previous knowledge of fashion but it is not essential, if you can sew it is a plus, although it is not a prerequisite.

Ideally you would be age 16 and up. If you are a Minor, that is if you are under 18, You will need your parents written consent to work with Master/slave. Alternatively get your teacher at school to contact us on your behalf to arrange for work experience.

As an intern you will learn about:

Retail  Management 101

Open the store
Vacuum and Clean the shelves
Merchandise all stock in Colour blocks and Sizes
Label, Price and Size all Garments
Replenish Stocks
Receive all in coming calls
Fill in traffic reports
Change and Style Window displays
Service Clients
Negotiate deals

Press, Pr, and Events

Prepare Press request packs
Call and make bookings for press requests
Call and make bookings for press returns.
Put away all returned items from press and magazines
Consult and liase with Stylists.
Cut out press clippings
Make press portfolio
Research and collate photographs

Marketing Fashion

Email clients regarding new fashion updates.
Call clients to inform them of latest Events and Happening.
Create new marketing strategies through graphic designs.
Update Website
Update Social Media, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace
Put together marketing materials.

Fashion In Focus

Assist on Photo and video shoots
Dress models
Style models for runway and photo shoots
Put together fashion editorial stories
Learn about Alteration
Learn about hand sewing
Learn about machining under pressure
Design for advertisement
Design for the personal client
Design for the bridal client
Press all garments for displays
